Counsellor
PAul Is a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor & Psychotherapist, as well as a registered member with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
There are times in life where its challenges may leave you feeling confused, emotional, upset and at times causing you to doubt yourself and who you are. There are numerous reason for this, from bereavement and loss to grief and depression, all which can leave you feeling isolated and alone, anxious and stressed.
Counseling offers the opportunity to lighten the darkness you may see in your life, to give you the time and space to seek clarity and to understand where you are in your life and explore where you want to be.
Working with Paul as your counselor can encourage you to understand more about you and how you function, how to move forward and regain control of your life rather than letting life control you. By working together we can focus on what is important, and acknowledge what your possibilities are in your future.
Being a person centred counsellor
Paul is a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and a registered member with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). His modality of counselling is to facilitate a safe, non-judgemental space for his clients to talk and explore their problems. He works in a non-directive way, which means that his client is at the centre of the therapy and is free to explore their thoughts and feelings, with Paul supporting them along the way.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a critical element of working with my clients; at all times your anonymity will be respected by me. This is a key component to the work done in counselling and is encompassed within the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, to which I adhere to.
Supervision
As a registered member with the BACP it is important that I attend regular Supervision, which is an essential part of working as a Counsellor & Psychotherapist and underpins my work to ensure that I work safely, effectively and ethically.
Supervision provides an environment to explore to a greater degree the relationship with my clients so that we can move towards desired outcomes. All client work discussed in supervision will also adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling professions and is subject to the Confidential agreement which is consistent with my clients.
